Interior Ministry declares statutory holidays

The Interior Ministry of Ghana under the auspices of Honourable Ambrose Derry has today served the nation with a press release on the upcoming holidays.


The ministry today released two separate letters declaring both Monday 2nd May and Tuesday 3rd may as statutory holidays in Ghana.

Speaking of why Monday was a holiday, the Ministry explained that ”

However,in view of the fact that 1st  May,2022 falls on Sunday, His Excellency has in Accordance with section 2 of public Holidays and Commemorative Days Acts(Act 61) declared Monday 2nd May as additional holiday and should be observed as such throughout the country.

Writing on why Tuesday too is a holiday, the Ministry said,” The general public is hereby informed that Tuesday,3rd May,2022 which marks Eid-ul-Fitr, is a statutory public holiday and should be observed as such throughout the country
