Kwame Tanko, the host of Angel in the Morning political talk show at Angel FM in kumasi, has disclosed how he chanced upon a meeting about the upcoming Ashanti Regional New Patriotic Party contest.

He indicated that Chairman Odeneho Kwaku Appiah is likely to take over based on the feedback from the ground when the two hosts asked him what was happening on the ground.

According to Kwame Tanko, he recently chanced upon a meeting involving almost all Ashanti Regional NPP Members of Parliament allegedly plotting the removal of Wontumi as Regional Chairman.

The Angel Kumasi morning show host claimed he chanced upon the meeting by mistake and had to quickly excuse them.

Kwame Tanko and Chairman Wontumi had a falling out after the former criticized the latter’s inefficiency in Ashanti Region.

Kwame Tanko accused Chairman Wontumi of talking too much but doing less work on the grounds. Chairman Wontumi blasted and insulted Kwame Tanko revealing he used to pay Kwame Tanko every month.

News of the meeting to unseat the embattled Ashanti NPP Chair comes at a time Wontumi threatened the Majority Leader in Parliament who is Member of Parliament for Suame, Osei Kyei-Mensah-Bonsu.

An aide to the MP for Suame, Maxwell Ofosu Boakye blamed Chairman Wontumi for the woes of the party citing his showing off gold bars as unhelpful to the fortunes of the NPP.

You should be very careful because people like us you know the work we used to do. We were sleeping in the bush. I did not make my money from home. The other day they say Osei Kyei-Mensah-Bonsu’s special assistant said I was displaying gold. Is it for your mother? Is it for your father? It is mine, it is my bona fide property,” he fumed on Wontumi Radio.

In a what earlier reports suggested was a direct threat against the Majority Leader, Chairman Wontumi asked Osei Kyei-Mensah-Bonsu to come out and explain the utterance of his aide or risk incurring his wrath as he would speak about what happened in Suame.
