As part of the Government’s effort to digitalize the system, it became needful for all sim cards of all networks to be re-registered with the National Identification Card popularly known as ‘Ghana Card ‘.

However, the masses of Ghanaians, ( over 7.5 million) are without the National Identification Card and has not been able to partake in this registration.
Other sections of the citizenry has not been registered due to the long queues at the registration centers, by this the ministry of Communication together with the National Identification Authority and the Tele Communication Networks has extended the deadline of the registration from 31st March, 2022 to July 31, 2022.
A press release by the ministry of Communications revealed this decision and urged the entire populace who are yet to register to take this opportunity and Register their sim cards with their Ghana Card to prevent their Sim from being Blocked.
