University of Ghana, Legon, today Wednesday February 23rd, 2022 met to vote on the decision by the National Executive Committee of UTAG to temporarily suspend strike actions as they engage the government in negotiation.
A total number of 723 votes were casted out of 1,332 voters on whether to “Accept NEC’s decision or to Reject NEC’s decision of temporarily suspending the industrial strike.
596 voters representing 82.4% voted in rejection of the decision whilst 127 representing 17.6% voted in acceptance of the decision.

This can confirm that, University of Ghana has joined University of Education, Winneba in rejection of the decision made by National Executive Committee of UTAG on Monday.
However, earlier today, University of Developmental Studies, University of Cape Coast and University of Professional Studies, Accra all served a letter to their respective students and lecturers informing them of academic activities resuming on Monday, 28th February, 2022
