VIDEO: Afena Gyan used to wear fake shoes – Mourinho on why he bought him €800 shoe

AS Roma manager Jose Mourinho has said that he bought a new pair of trainers for Ghana International Footballer Afena Gyan because he used to wear fake trainers.

It could be remembered that Mourinho bought a pair of trainers for Afena Gyan after a spectacular performance and scoring two late goals in an Italian league match against Genoa.

The trainers were said to be worth €800 and became topical because the Ghanaian striker could not hide his joy about the gesture.

Speaking in a recent interview, Mourinho indicated that prior to the period Afena Gyan hadn’t signed a professional contract with AS Roma, he did not put on quality trainers.

He said he was being bullied by his teammates and therefore he promised to get him quality trainers.

Mourinho says now, Afena Gyan has a professional contract, quality trainers and have qualified to be at the World Cup and now, he is the one teasing his colleagues because they will not be at the World Cup
